She is the newest member of our family!

You may notice she has a little spot on her forehead. It's a cut she had when we got her, probably from one of her brothers or sisters. We're hoping that it goes away and doesn't leave a bald spot...it's looking better already. We also went to the vet today and she weighs 9lbs! So tiny!
So, one may ask, why get another dog? We weren't necessarily planning on being a 2 dog family right now. Well, let me tell a little story...it all starts with our precious little Dixie Dog.
Some people may not know that Dixie also goes by the name "Whine-ette" which she has earned by spending countless hours at our back door whining and crying, making enemies of all our neighbors. It's so bad that our neighbors that have just moved in a week ago have already talked to us about it. And our neighbors before them talked to us about it right before they moved because the didn't want any of our other neighbors doing anything "extreme." Umm, what!?!?! Had they thought of torturing our dog or something? I mean, we kind of knew that Dixie has separation issues, but we had no idea that it was that bad. We actually thought that after 2 years of living as a "single" dog, she had out-grown it. Apparently not.
Since D-dog does just fine when other dogs are with her, we decided that the only thing to do was get her a sister to play with during the day. Enter Georgia.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that Dixie actually HATES G-dog (like that? D-Dog and G-Dog!!), but they are certainly not BFF's yet. I don't recall ever hearing Dixie growl and bark so much. Granted, Georgia probably deserves it when she gets growled at- she's usually chewing on Dixie's ear, trying to get her bone or jumping all over her. She even tried to "nurse" on poor Dixie the other day. It was quite funny for us, but I'm sure very traumatizing for D. Dixie is just not happy with the situation yet. On the plus side, she is eating again (she was in shock for a couple days and didn't eat) and has a little more tolerance for the puppy. This will be their first week outside together, so we'll see how it goes!! Hopefully, they will love it out there together- or, more likely, Georgia is enough of a distraction for Dixie that she doesn't whine all day!

good lord that took long enough :) just kidding. she is so precious. can you imagine when we take all our kids to the lake? and all the dogs? we will have to rent a huge house...or just buy one i guess...we'll let the fletchers handle that.
Cute, cute, cute! Mary told me about Georgia last week and I have been waiting to see a picture of her. I love her name!
What a cutie! I hope Dixie learns to love her and they become best friends :)
